DJCAD 2013 DEGREE SHOW

Well it's half way through our degree show for class of 2013 and I have to say the feedback from people has been great in relation to all of our work. Us textile girls have done ourselves proud! People have been saying it has been the best textiles that they have seen the department produce in years! And to be part of that feels pretty good to say the least.
It's going to be a sad feeling when it's all over because the class has felt like a family over the last few years but hopefully we will all stay in contact when we move on to bigger and better things out in the big bad world.
For alot of us, it is a BIG question mark as to what we are going to do next:
Are we going to be self-employed? Or work for a  textile company?
So many opportunities for us to try and grab a hold of now.
Hopefully New Designers will bring lots of opportunities for us all regardless of what we want in our future.
Right now we have to play a waiting game and see what the future holds.
Nothing in life is certain.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...

I find that all around me beauty comes from within, which is not what the billionaire fashion industry is based on. If someone is beautiful on the outside but not on the inside it is almost like ' having a masterpiece painting on a napkin.'
Vanity consumes our society like a python squeezing its prey. We are the prey and there is no escaping the clutches of the python.
It is such harrowing sorrow how much a truely beautiful person is under-valued or over-looked. Traits such as kindness and patience are continuously shamefully cast aside where instead they should be never forgotten.
Unless the values of our society change, progress of humanity will most likely be on a dark downward spiral.
